Just finished watching A.I. again… love this quote.

Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.

Broncos

27 09 2009

Having gone into the season thinking that the Broncos would only win 4 games this season, I’m pleasantly surprised to find them sitting at 3-0. Of course, their season gets much harder. At least they beat the Raiders ;)

Does anyone actually like Barry Bonds?

28 05 2007

Latest news reports the ‘Roids Boy will be holding out on giving the Baseball Hall of Fame memorabilia commemorating his tainted run towards Hank Aaron’s all-time homerun record. Who the hell cares?!?!? In my opinion, this guy has soiled what little is left of the integrity of that sport.

What’s up with the Boston PD?

They can’t be that dumb… or can they?

Maybe they’ll go after the traffic-counter manufacturer to pay for the costs associated with their latest “egg on face” fiasco.

Broncos looking good

7 11 2006

After starting the season rather flat, the Denver Broncos are finally starting to look like a Super Bowl contender. Although it was sad to see them drop such a close game to the Colts, I think they are in a good position to adequately handle the second half of their season and find themselves on top of the AFC West going into the playoffs. I only hope Plummer keeps it together and the whole team “peaks” at the right time.

The Broncos off to a disappointing start

22 09 2006

Two games down… one win, one loss… one measly touchdown. WTF?!?! The Denver Broncos should have easily defeated the Rams and Chiefs to start the season off right; however, they’re now 1-1 going into Foxboro to face the overly-fellated-by-the-media Patriots.

I don’t know what it’s going to take to put a spark in the offense’s ass, but not having scored a single touchdown thus far is pathetic. What’s even more pathetic is Mike Shannhan sticking with Plummer. This guy is a tool. Granted, he had a break-out season last year, but he just isn’t cutting it now. And let’s face it, in the AFC West, you gotta get out front early and bring it every single game. I only hope he’s taken a good, long hard look in the mirror over this past week and exercised any demons he may have picked up, because it’s go time. He needs to step up to the plate and get that limp-dick offense of his scoring some points. A team can’t win on defense alone (thank goodness the Broncos’ D has decided to show up to play).

Let’s get it going Broncos… and if not, then throw Cutler in the game. They’ve been touting him as the future of the Broncos. If that’s the case, toss him in and let him get some good snaps under his belt, because if the Broncos lose Sunday, I’m afraid they’ll have dug themselves into a hole they won’t be able to climb out of.

The Pope and Muslims

17 09 2006

Apparently the Pope made some comments last week that seemed to outrage most of the Muslims in the world. In typical fashion, a large number of Muslims protested and began burning shit down.

For a religion most often referred to as the “religion of peace”, I can’t help but think they have to be one of the most intolerant group of people next to the christian fundies we have here in America.

For crying out loud, people, take a chill pill and quit taking everything so damn literally. In fact, your actions only validate the Pope’s comments. I don’t want to come across as sounding intolerant myself, but everytime I turn on the news or read something online, I’m constantly reminded of just how violent this religion appears to be. I hate to lump the whole religion into that “whacko” group, but I’m not seeing many Muslim leaders coming out and publicly denouncing such violent protests and terrorist activities carried out in the name of their religion. Sorry… but silence, in this case, comes across as support.

In all fairness, I feel the same way about the Christian fundies here in America. These tools won’t get off their whole “anti-gay, prayer in the schools, religion all over” stance. I find it funny just how dead set they are about homosexuality. Like it’s contagious or something. Any gay marriage… shit, we have a divorce rate in this country over 50%. How about concentrating some of that energy on trying make traditional marriages work instead of protesting when two people (who are of the same sex) love each other and want to share their lives together with the same rights and protections afforded to their hetero counterparts.

All religions need to just chill the hell out. Come to the realization that there are and will always be other people in this world that have different views and beliefs. Learn to live with it. Acting crazy just makes you look silly.
